"Feed The Hungry," which provides food each month to families who live in the Turning Point Transitional Shelter in Santa Monica, CA. was founded in 1983. The shelter has 55 beds and has assisted over 4,000 people since it's inception more than two decades ago.
Dana Stein Willinger and her 6th grade science class at Cloonan Middle School in Stamford, CT generously raised funds for the the tsunami victims. U.R.G.E. was so moved by their efforts, they teamed up with the kids to match the funds they raised to donate to the Americares Organization. Click here for pictures of Dana and her students.
Donation goes toward sponsoring Kerry Simester for the Los Angeles Marathon, who helped raise $2,500 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The society helps cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of the patients and their families. Click here for more information.
